DaytonDefense is proud to bring you AFRL's Commander, Brig. Gen. Heather Pringle and Mr. Jack Blackhurst who will be sharing their perspectives on the state of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in DaytonDefense's first virtual event of 2021. 

Brig. Gen. Heather L. Pringle is the Commander of AFRL. She is responsible for managing a $2.5 billion Air Force science and technology program and an additional $2.3 billion in externally funded research and development. She is also responsible for leading a government workforce of approximately 6,000 people in the laboratory's nine component technology directorates and the 711th Human Performance Wing.

Jack Blackhurst, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Executive Director of AFRL. He is the principal assistant to the commander and the senior civilian executive responsible for managing the Air Force's $2.5 billion science and technology program along with an additional $2.3 billion of externally funded research and development. He serves a government workforce of approximately 6,000 people in the laboratory's nine component technology directorates and 711th Human Performance Wing.
